NOT EASY.
I thought running while I was home would actually be easy because my parents have a treadmill. This is just not true. I'm running around all day long doing errands, seeing people and catching up, trying to spend time with my family, etc. and before I know it it is 11 o'clock at night and parents are asleep in bed.
The treadmill is in their room!
So, I'm going to have to do better about running early in the day. That is the goal this week: Run in the morning.
So far not so good, but I'm trying. Next week when I'm in Abilene this won't be hard because no one will really be back in town yet so I'll have plenty of down time to hit the Lunsford up.
Ashley Look--thanks for reading this and commenting, it made my day!!!! <3 you!

Day 1 Completed!
OK--I did my walk/run around 5:30. I was done by 6. The next time I run I'll have to take a stop watch so I can make sure that I go for 40 minutes. But I think for day 1, going for 30 minutes was pretty good.
My feet hurt some, and I'm hoping that will go away as time goes on. I also am coughing some just from breathing in the cold air I think. My throat hurts some when I run in the cold, and I don't know if that's just how the cookie crumbles, or if maybe this will go away as time goes on too?
I definitely didn't feel like going but I made myself go. I hope to continue on in that fashion! :-)
I thought I had more to share but I don't. Haha. It's not like many if any read this anyway. ;-)
Random side note: I love NCIS. Soooooo gooooood. USA does reruns all the time. Love it!

Running in the cold!
Just saw some awesome vids on Ruthie's blog about running in cold weather and how to layer your clothing appropriately. Very educational! Tonight I go for my first run to begin training for the Dallas half in March. Tonight I'm running by myself, but tomorrow I'm running with Rachel.
This weeks training schedule:
Monday: 40 minutes total
Run 3 mins, walk 2 at a moderate pace
Tuesday: 30 minutes
cross train
Wednesday: Rest
Thursday: 40 minutes
Run 3 mins, walk 2 at a moderate pace
Friday: 30 minute cross training
Saturday: 3 miles
run 3 minutes, walk 2
EEEK! Already kind of afraid of it! This week will also be a little tougher because I'm going home on Thursday and I won't be able to train Thursday or Friday this week because of Christmas. But my parents have a treadmill so I definitely have a place to run the rest of the time!

My New Life Plan
Friday I graduate. I will be a college grad. A degree holder. So excited!
After next week is over and I have my life back, I'm going to be making some major changes. The biggest one is I am joining a group of women (some of whom I work with) that are training to run a half marathon in March. I am excited to do this because it's a big group of people who are just going to encourage each other to stick with it and not quit. Sounds like a good plan to me! :-)
Depending on how that goes, I may or may not join a gym this month. If I feel like I'm getting enough out of the marathon training, then I'll just do that. But I may also decide I'd like to do classes and stuff at the gym to spice up the running routine, so we'll see.
Well I'm off to go do something productive with myself. Love!
